Religions ready to walk together

KILSYTH’S Churches Together group have arranged a special event to mark Good Friday and demonstrate the unity of people of different faiths in the town.

The Walk of Witness, which will take place on Friday, April 6 at 10am, will see a procession through the town centre of Kilsythians representing a variety of religions.

Those taking part will assemble at St Patrick’s Parish Church, Low Craigends, ahead of the 10am start.

They will then depart, making their way down Main Street, before stopping briefly at the Main Street bridge.

There, a brief moment of worship will take place, which may involve either a reading, a prayer or a hymn.

Afterwards the cavalcade will proceed to the Anderson Church, Kingston Road. All are welcome to attend.

nGood Friday is observed as a holiday by Christians to mark the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, before his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
