Scotland’s Festival of History needs sponsors

LANARK Racecourse is once again playing host to the country’s largest history festival later this year.Scotland’s Festival of History 2011 will attract thousands of visitors to the town over the weekend of August 20-21.

Lanark Mediaeval Society are urging people and businesses in Clydesdale to become involved in the 2011 festival.

Covering more than 2000 years of history, the two day August show features around 500 specialist costumed participants giving a unique insight into Scottish history.

The event is organised by a team of eight volunteers, but, faced with the ever increasing costs involved, Festival director Kenny Ellis is now hoping to attract support or sponsorship.
