Shieldhill and Taj up for Entertainment Awards

TWO Biggar businesses have been shortlisted for gongs at this year’s Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards, held on April 19.

The Shieldhill Castle Hotel is nominated for Scotland’s Best Wedding Venue while the Taj Mahal, located in Biggar High Street, has been nominated as Scotland’s Best Indian Cuisine.

Both businesses are coming off big wins at previous awards ceremony; Shieldhill already won big at The Scottish Wedding Awards while the Taj team bagged an award at the recent Scottish Curry Awards.

The awards bash, this year held at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow will see 19 awards presented in categories ranging from Scotland’s Favourite Gay Friendly Venue to Scotland’s Best Wedding Venue.

The ceremony, attended every year by over 750 industry professionals, will be presided over comedian Des Clarke.
