Silverburn brings old fashioned romance to the city of Glasgow

Silverburn will set pulses racing this Valentine’s Day, as it introduces an exclusive Tea Dance tomorrow (Thursday).

In a nod to years gone by when sweethearts would swing their partner left, rather than swipe right, the shopping centre will transport guests to the 1940s with an afternoon of old-fashioned romance in the middle of the busy mall.

Combining dance and romance, first-time movers can join seasoned tea dancers at Silverburn, taking their place on the dance floor and getting tips on how to meet their very own Fred or Ginger.

Local band Awkward Family Portraits will provide the perfect soundtrack, filling the mall with a selection of nostalgic favourites and dancers from Glasgow Jitterbugs will show shoppers how it’s done with captivating mini-performances to entertain crowds and encourage shoppers, young and old, to try their hand at a little quickstep, foxtrot or cha-cha.

David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, said: “Love is in the air at Silverburn and we’re thrilled to be stepping back in time this Valentine’s Day and warming the hearts of our shoppers with a good, old-fashioned dance.

“We’d like to invite the people of Glasgow to add a spring to their step and join us for what’s sure to be an unforgettable afternoon of family fun, great music and old school romance.“

The Silverburn Valentine’s Day Dance will take place outside of the NEXT store in the centre from 12-3pm.
