Singing for Yorkhill

Singers have sung their hearts out to raise £1,500 for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation.

The funds were raised at a concert held recently by the Cumbernauld Male Voice Choir in Kildrum Parish Church.

The choir worked with primary schools in the area, including Baird Memorial, Carbrain, Cumbernauld, Kildrum and Whitelees to promote the event.

Pupils sold tickets to the event, which was attended by around 400 people, and they also performed.

Each school choir had their own slot and all the choirs joined forces at the end with Cumbernauld Male Voice Choir to sing You Raise Me Up.

Conductor John Seggie said: “We did the event last year and we raised a lot of money for another charity.

“We therefore decided to repeat the event and we are delighted with how much we have raised.”
