Strathbungo’s the place to be

A SLICE of entertainment is landing in the southside this week, courtesy of Bungo Fest.

The one-day festival, held this Saturday, is a collaboration between The Arches and the Strathbungo Society, and promises a host of micro-performances.

Some performances will also move from venue to venue, ensuring that all festival-goers get the full Bungo experience between 11am and 8pm.

Highlights include children’s activity Dance in a Minute at Tapa – where youngsters are invited to learn a routine in...well...45 minutes (close enough) before performing.

There’s music from Iain Campbell, Clemence Blum and Wounded Knee at Gusto and Relish, as well as The Arches roving choir.

Add spoken word shows by Alan Bissett, Martin O’Connor and the rest of the Mulberry Street group, as well as art classes for all ages and stand-up comedy at Sammy Dow’s and there’s something for all.
