Students cook up tasty treat
Eleven students from the Prince’s Trust Team Programme, based at the college, have been working closely with the popular soft drink company to design and develop a colourful cookbook named ‘Food Fight’.
The proceeds generated by the book, which it is hoped should top £3,000, will be used by the Prince’s Trust to help vulnerable young people working less than 16 hours a week.

Hide AdKaren Lai (19), from Cumbernauld, helped create the cookbook.
She said: “The book features starter, main course and dessert recipes and we tried them out in the college kitchen which brought us all together.
“The book will also allow people to know a bit more about the Prince’s Trust and also Barr’s.”
Containing around 80 recipes submitted by students on the programme, as well as by Barr’s own, the book forms part of the company’s annual fundraising project for the Prince’s Trust.

Hide AdEmma Noble, Prince’s Trust programme leader, said: “The students have really enjoyed being involved with this exciting project.
“It has been really hands on and they have had a fantastic amount of input in the design, layout and pictures featured in the cookbook.
“The students also met up with design company, the Leith Agency, to discuss ideas and gain a better understanding of how something like this is put together.”
Around 700 copies will be printed and sold internally to Barr’s employees and Cumbernauld College students.
