Thankerton dragon adds heat to fireworks night

Breathing heat...into Thankerton's bonfire night, a dragon took centre stage at the event

The pageant, led by a full-sized model of the mythical beast, included swans, hedgehogs, fish, dancers, musicians and dozens of talented children and adults who entertained a huge crowd during a fantastic show prior to the lighting of the bonfire and fireworks display.

The event was organised by Thankerton Improvement Group (TIG) in association with Libberton, Quothquan and Thankerton Community Council.

Soup and hotdogs were available to help warm everybody up on a really cold evening and the enthusiastic crowd was treated to a great display of talent from all involved.

Organisers wish to thank everyone who took part and all those supported the event.
