The Avenue donates £1180 to Prostate Cancer UK

Prostate Cancer UK leads the fight against prostate cancer, funding ground-breaking research, driving improvements in treatment, and fighting injustice in care.

Now they have set themselves the toughest challenge yet: to stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue said: “Prostate Cancer is a phrase we at The Avenue have been hearing often recently as a result of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in March and the national campaign which surrounded this.

“We were shocked to learn that one in eight men will develop Prostate Cancer.

“We held a Retailers Quiz Night at The Avenue in the spring and took the opportunity to support Prostate Cancer UK on the night with a charity raffle and selling of merchandise. Additional funds were raised from more kind donations from our retailers and shoppers which led to this fantastic total being raised.

“The Avenue supports various charities throughout the year and we are grateful to the generosity of others that Prostate Cancer UK was one of the worthwhile causes this year.”
