The strips are part of an agreement worth £22,000 over three years between Scotland’s premier Italian restaurant and Giffnock SC.

The cash will also be invested in specialist training and improvements in facilities for the club, whose former players include current Scotland international and Liverpool star Andy Robertson.

Giffnock SC runs boys, girls and disability teams for around 1,200 kids aged between three and 19 as well as a Pro Academy for promising young players – a not-for-profit enterprise part-funded by Robertson himself.

Tony Macaroni owner Sep Marini said: “It’s wonderful to see the Tony Macaroni brand on Giffnock SC’s strips.

“They are a great club that helps so many youngsters – boys and girls – and produced a fantastic footballer in Andy Robertson.”

Giffnock SC vice-chairman Craig Inglis said: “We’re so appreciative to Sep and Tony Macaroni for backing Giffnock SC financially. It means so much to all of us – organisers, coaches and of course the kids who are the lifeblood of the club.”

Giffnock Soccer Centre was founded in 1995 by a group of fathers looking to pass down their love of football to their children. It continues to be run by a team of 250 dedicated qualified coach volunteers – still mostly dads.
