Warm to open dayin Croy

AN open day will be held at the Croy Miners’ Welfare centre offering information on the support available through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.

The event will take place at the Nethercroy Road centre next Tuesday, November 22, between 11am and 2pm and will be attended by representatives of many major power suppliers.

Those involved in the scheme include: Atlantic, British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Equipower, Equigas, Manweb, M&S Energy, npower, Sainsbury’s Energy, Scottish Gas, Scottish Hydro, ScottishPower, Southern Electric, SSE, Swalec and Utility Warehouse.

Workers from the CHRIS Project, a neighbourhood initiative based at Croy Miners’ Welfare which offers advice and practical support on a number of welfare and social issues, will also be on hand on the day to offer assistance.

The Warm Home Discount Scheme offers rebates on energy bills for those who meet certain criteria to ensure they can afford to heat their own homes during the cold winter months.
