Warm welcome home

IT will be a warm welcome for Lisa McHugh when the singer makes her return to the west of Scotland.

And the Glasgow songstress has had much to celebrate recently.

Her latest single, Let’s Pretend We Never Met, was released earlier this month.

The single comes with a promotional video, which was shot in London.

Lisa is very excited by the new release. She told The Extra: “The video is especially themed and we hope the people get as much enjoyment watching it as we had shooting it.”

The single is taken from her forthcoming album and was written by Kert Blazy and Leslie Satcher.

And the star, who now lives in Ireland, is set for a homecoming at Eastwood Park Theatre this Sunday.

Lisa will also be celebrating her latest award as she has been named Female Vocalist of the Year at the Ocean FM Annual Country Music Awards.

Collecting her award, the country singer told a capacity audience at the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran that she was accepting it on behalf of family and friends because, as she said, without them she wouldn’t have won it.

A very busy young woman, Lisa will be supporting Nathan Carter at next month’s P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival at County Antrim’s Glenarm Castle.

In between times, Lisa has been busy rehearsing and preparing for the busy summer ahead appearing at festivals, theatres and on her usual dance circuit.

Lisa added: “I always look forward to putting on my best performance and meeting with my fans and friends when my show finishes.

“This way, I get to sign autographs, have a chat and have some nice photos taken.”
