Winning artists in Cumbernauld arts and crafts exhibition announced

A TRIO of local artists have been awarded cash prizes after their submissions for a town centre arts and crafts exhibition caught the eyes of judges.

As we have reported, Cumbernauld Cultural Forum is staging their annual charity exhibition in Forth Walk in the hope of raising cash to buy a hydrotherapy pool at Redburn School.

This will help children with special needs.

So far, the exhibition is said to have received a lot of very positive feedback and every year, town centre management offer an award for the three best pictures – as well as allowing them to set up their stall in the mall for free.

This year first prize in the McIntosh Award went to Fiona Fleming, second to Jo Grant and third place was awarded to Andy Watson.

The forum’s Corinne Climie said: “The winners would like to thank town centre management for their cheques.’’
