105th birthday

BONNYTON House's oldest resident Christina Babes celebrated her 105th birthday last week.

Christina was born on April 20 1905 in Wishaw. She moved to Busby in 1932 and has remained there as a member of the parish church.

Friends, family and fellow residents of the Busby care home attended the party in Christina's honour.

Well-wishers included her sister Edna Craig (93), daughter Sheila and niece Linda Houston.

Busby parish church minister Jerry Eve, provost Alex Mackie and East Ren deputy lieutenant Alison Gilchrist also paid their respects and presented Christina with a congratulations card from the Queen.
