60 jobs go in Carluke after supermarket retailer Haldanes closes

Supermarket retailer Haldanes has closed its doors in Carluke for the final time – with the loss of scores of jobs.

The store, in Rankin Gait, closed last Tuesday evening after the company went into administration – taking with it 60 full and part-time jobs.

In a letter sent to store managers said that although staff would be paid for the aid in full for the period of June 9 to 14 all other outstanding wages, holiday pay and statutory notice would have to be claimed by employees from the government, a process that normally takes up to three months.
