Famous for its club and 'under-18' nights, the venue on the city's Queen Street was popular with Glaswegians and Charlie Sheen even spent a night there with Paul Gascoigne. Around the turn of the millennium it was at the heart of local clubland in the city centre.
Archaos closed in 2007, and plans have been approved to demolish the building that housed the former nightclub and build a fourteen storey student flats tower.
Here we take a look back at what the club looked like inside in 2017, with echoes of parties from the past still in evidence.

The current four-storey building that housed Archaos dates back to the 1830s and was originally a warehouse. It currently houses retail units including Tam Shephard's Trick Shop, established in 1886, the oldest magic shop in the world. Photo: Dapple Photography

The application states: “The ground floor was let for a period in 2017, but the building has remained largely vacant in recent years and has fallen into a state of disrepair.” Photo: Inside Archaos

“There is plant growth in areas where water gathers, including the eaves stringcourses. The impermeable paint on the original masonry finish is peeling in places where trapped water has broken through, revealing a crumbling sandstone façade beneath." Photo: Dapple Photography
