90-year-old Kirkintilloch woman robbed by cruel conman

A CALLOUS caller stole a purse from a 90-year-old woman after gaining access to her home.

The conman visited the woman’s home on Braehead Street, Kirkintilloch sometime between 2pm and 4pm on Wednesday, June 13.

He gained access to the property by telling the woman he was from the gas board and made an excuse to leave after he grabbed the purse.

The purse containing five pounds was later found on the street.

The man is described as around 20 years old. He is white, around 5’5” and he has a slim build.

He was wearing a short faux leather jacket, dark trousers and he has a scruffy appearance.
