A busy year ahead makes it A plus for Abronhill

THE remainder of the academic year looks to be a busy one for pupils at Abronhill Primary School who are our latest School of the Week.

Primary 2/3 have shown their enthusiasm for nature by picking up objects on outdoor walks and freezing them into ice sculptures.

And with a dip in the temperature, their ice sculpture creations will surely last in the garden for some time.

Exploding volcanoes is the topic of the moment for the P6/7 class.

They are learning all about volcanoes, and they even made one explode by mixing vinegar, washing-up liquid and bicarbonate of soda.

Primary seven have been baking shortbread for Burns celebrations whilst P5 have been using school iPads to research the Victorians.

The Loch Ness monster has been on the minds of primary four pupils who are looking at Scotland and have created sculptures to help with their studies.

Meanwhile primary one have been keeping fit with gymnastics.

The whole school will also work this term on writing a novel which will be based on their topics, and they will present them to parents at a later stage.
