A century of Carstairs Gala’s is celebrated

A civic reception was held last Wednesday evening in honour of the fantastic landmark of the Carstairs and District Gala’s 100th celebrations.

The event, in the Almada Suite of South Lanarkshire Council Headquarters in Hamilton, saw a meal and refreshments served to committee members.

And a gift of an engraved crystal bowl was handed to Gala President John Forrest by Provost Russell Clearie.
