A class act at Carbrain

OUR first school of the week is Carbrain Primary in Cumbernauld, which certainly gave us plenty to focus upon. The place is a hive of activity.

Take the the pupil council which gratefully received a £75 sum from the parent council and used their own judgement to select a series of educational toys and games for the school online.

Being surrounded by housing, the primary isn’t as closely connected with nature as some in our area but the eco committee has that all taken care of – by doing up two school gardens, with plenty help from parents and staff.

We also met the nurture group mid-munch as they enjoyed the most important meal of the day with a spot of storytelling thrown in too.

Fairtrade has become very important to the school which has its own tuckshop and these youngsters are dedicated to spreading its global message, as they busily re-apply to renew their treasured Fairtrade status.

Also pictured is P7 getting stuck into their work – under the watchful eye of Mr Shaw.

And with health-promoting Fruity Fridays to enjoy and plus all-important Scottish Week in the offing, the pupils have plenty to look forward to in the coming session too.
