A grand fundraiser as residents dress up for awards event

There was some red carpet glamour at Kirkintilloch's Whitehill Court retirement housing development recently - as tenants and staff celebrated the people who have made an outstanding contribution.

The black-tie event saw photograhy students from New College Lanarkshire capturing the winners and £1,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospice Glasgow.

Awards were presented by Provost Una Walker for a number of categories, including an ‘unsung hero’ gong.

Margaret McEwan, Retirement Housing Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to see everyone getting involved in dressing up and getting into the spirit of the awards.

“All of the winners were thoroughly deserved and we’ve all had a lovely time.”
