Katie Caldwell (7), from Kirkintilloch, recently made her first visit EVER to the hairdressers to have her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust.

The hair will be used to make a chemotherapy wig for young cancer patients who have lost their own.

And the Lairdsland Primary pupil is also collecting money for the charity - after going through with the radical trim at Kirkintilloch’s Sasscia Hair Salon.

Proud mum Joy said her caring daughter was “delighted” with her new hair style - given to her my hairdresser Barbara Todd - even though it was “a little shorter than she thought it was going to be”.

Katie has already managed to collect over £400 for the Little Princess Trust and hopes Herald readers can help her reach her £500 fundraising target.
