A lotto cash for Carbrain

A Cumbernauld school is celebrating after receiving a double lotto boost which will be used to improve outdoor learning.

Carbrain Primary School was awarded £7,900 from the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme of funding.

And they received a further £1,976 from the Big Lottery’s 2014 communities programme.

The cash will be used to fund two projects which will improve the pupils outdoor learning as part of the Curriculum for Excellence.

The bigger grant will go towards building an impressive trim trail in the school’s playground.

The playtime feature was designed by Scotplay and will include attractions such as swinging logs and a balance beam.

It is expected to be built by the end of the year, and pupils will then work on a timetabled roster to access the trim trail.
