A sea of yellow

THE sun may have disappeared, but Bellahouston Park was a sea of yellow yesterday for the annual Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Go Yellow 5K walk.

Over 3,000 children fom 55 primary schools put their best feet forward for the fundraising event, donning yellow caps and setting off round the southside park.

The youngsters were also treated to a host of outdoor activities at the finish line, from football and rugby to golf and cheerleading — as well as watching a race between hospice mascot Harvey the Heart, Rangers football club’s Broxi Bear, Celtic’s Hoopy the Huddle Hound and Real Radio’s Barry the Bassett.

The hospice is currently raising money for a new facility near Bellahouston Park, planned for 2016.

Pictured are pupils from St Cadoc’s primary in Newton Mearns, all celebrating on reaching the finish line.
