Transportations — a study of a time when trams ruled the Glasgow streets — runs at the Glasgow Art Club on Bath Street until Friday, August 30.

The Edinburgh College of Art graduate first started painting trams in 2004, basing the first piece on his grandparents’ memories of yesteryear. He has since developed a body of work on trams, Clyde boats and memories of Glasgow to transport the viewer back in time — whether it’s a case of reliving the tram’s shoogle or discovering a whole new, once forgotten side to the city.

Paul commented that the topics of his paintings “stem from the heart of Glasgow, thus transporting the viewer to a place which now only exists in the imagination”.
