Advance warning for bus passengers ahead of Remembrance Sunday

Bus passengers are being advised to allow a longer time for their journeys this Sunday as the annual Remembrance Day commemorations take place in Glasgow city centre.

First Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest bus operator, will operate a number diversions on Sunday November 8 due to the closure of a number of city centre roads from 9am-1pm.

John Cahill, Business Director (City) of First Glasgow, said: “Our services running through Glasgow city centre this weekend will operate via diverted routes to take account of Remembrance Sunday.

“We’d ask our passengers intending to travel on our services on Sunday morning to allow longer for their journeys and to plan ahead where possible.”

Service 6 towards Clydebank.

Normal route to Ingram Street at South Frederick Street then continue Ingram Street, right Queen Street, left St Vincent Place and normal route

Service 6A towards Glasgow

via normal route to West George Street and right West Nile Street, right St Vincent Street.

Service 6A towards Drumchapel

Will start in service at St. Vincent Street, 3 minutes after scheduled Cochrane Street departure time and then normal route.

Service 18 towards Glasgow

Normal route to Ingram Street at South Frederick Street, continue Ingram Street, right Queen Street, left St Vincent Place and normal route.

Services 19/A towards Robroyston/Easterhouse

Normal route to West Regent Street at Hope Street then left Hope Street, Renfrew Street, Killermont Street, right North Hanover Street, left Cathedral Street and normal route. Bus stops at Renfrew Street near Thistle Hotel and Killermont Street outside Buchanan Bus Station will be observed on the diversion route.

Service 21 towards Glasgow

Normal route to Ingram Street at South Frederick Street, continue Ingram Street, right Queen Street, left St Vincent Place and normal route

Services 38/A/B/C/E and 57/A towards Royal Infirmary

Normal route to West Regent Street then left West Nile Street, right Killermont St, right North Hanover Street, left Cathedral Street and Normal route. Bus stop on Killermont Street outside Buchanan Bus Station will be observed on the diversion route.

Service 41 towards Glasgow

Normal route to Duke Street at John Knox Street then right into John Knox Street, right into Castle Street, left into Cathedral Street, Bath Street, left Renfield Street, left West Regent Street.

Service 41 towards Easterhouse

via West Regent Street, left into West Nile Street, right Killermont Street, right into North Hanover Street, left into Cathedral Street, right into Castle Street, left into John Knox Street, left into Duke Street and normal route.

Services 240, 255, 263 and 267 towards Buchanan bus station
