Ain’t no mountain high enough

MUIREND man Stuart Macdougall is finally able to relax after pushing his body to the limit in support of Yorkhill hospital.

The 30-year-old accountant raised more than £10,000 in donations in support of his 1,000-mile cycle from
Calais to Barcelona, in just 11 days.

Mr Macdougall made the trip with two fellow cyclists, Andy Russell and Bryan Marshall.

After the countless hills, near death experiences and never-ending days, Stuart is now pleased to be hanging up his cycling shorts.

He told The Extra: “The focus is on me now and trying to get running shoes back on with The Great Scottish Run on October 6 to train for when my quadriceps recover!”

At aged seven, Stuart nearly died after suffering liver and kidney failure, before receiving life-saving treatment at Yorkhill.
