Alfie's move to aid Carluke parking hazard

THE owner of a Carluke fish and chip shop has put up signs urging customers not to park on the single yellow line outside.

It is hoped it will address concerns about the number of vehicles clogging up the road, outside Alfie's in Clyde Street.

Alfie Macera (30) wants to do all he can to help eliminate the problem of potentially dangerous parking.

The move is a direct response to Carluke community councillors warning in last week's Gazette that inconsiderate parking on roads like Clyde Street and Kirkton Street could endanger lives.
