All’s fair at Thornliebank

Thornliebank Primary pupils can hold their heads high this term as the school is stamped with Fairtrade status.

The primary has been named as a FairAchiever school by the Fairtrade Foundation thanks to the hard work of a committee, including Fairtrade Fortnight stalls, a Celebrate Bananas event and a Fairtrade fruit swap day.

Head teacher Siobhan McColgan said: “We were over the moon to be awarded FairAchiever status — the highest award for schools. We believe learning about Fairtrade is an ideal opportunity for children to find out about the world we live in.”
