And she could get the chance to represent Scotland in the Miss Teen Galaxy International beauty pageant in America next year if she wins the contest.

The fifth-year Springburn Academy pupil said: “This is a dream come true.

“I was surprised when I found out I’d got through. I was happy enough to just get the chance to get the experience, but when I got the e-mail to say I had got through it was amazing. I felt really proud.

“I’m delighted to get this far and I am hoping I can win it. I will try my hardest and hope for the best.

“It’s been an amazing experience.”

The pageant encourages contestants to take part in voluntary and fundraising work in their communities.

Amy is now keen to get involved locally before she competes next year and is asking any group that needs a helping hand to get in touch.

The aspiring model added: “Volunteering is something I’ve always wanted to get involved in since I was a little girl.

“My family have done fundraising and charity work, and I’ve always enjoyed it. It’s something I love doing and I’d like to encourage other girls to get involved as well.”
