Amy Macdonald, who grew up in Bishopbriggs before moving to Milngavie, took to social media after winning the accolade at the Scottish Music Awards in the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow, which has been the main fundraising event for Nordoff Robbins Scotland since 1996.

The night, hosted by STV’s Jennifer Reoch and Ewen Cameron brought together some of Scotland’s most celebrated acts and artists and honoured them with numerous awards, handcrafted for the occasion by Scottish woodwork designer, Paul Hodgkiss.

Amy said: “So chuffed to win the award for songwriting at the Scottish music awards last night. Brilliant night for an amazing cause.”
