Andrew Barrie is Biggar Cornet-elect

Andrew has been chosen to be Biggar Cornet 2011 but he will spend this year accompanying 2010 Cornet David Williamson in the local celebrations and the rides throughout the Borders.

"It was a total surprise," said Andrew. "It is a great honour and I look forward to representing the town."

Andrew, who attended Walston Primary and Biggar High School, is an auctioneer with Lawrie and Symington.
