Anger at ‘damage’ caused in South Lanarkshire Council Home Happening clear up

A THANKERTON man is furious at what he sees as botched jobs by members of South Lanarkshire Council Home Happening Team, and a contractor, after council workers had initially removed asbestos from his kitchen cupboard last November.

Andrew Moor (41), of Mill Road, claims that bungling workmen caused a four-inch tear in the back of his £1100 black leather couch in the living room and dirtied carpets which later shrank after being washed by the cleaning contractor.

“The way the council has handled this has been pretty dismal,” Andrew said.

“I’m extremely angry and more than disappointed with them.

“I want £1600 in compensation to cover the damage to my couch and replacement carpeting in the living room, hall, landing and on the stairs,” he said.
