Anna’s art puts her on the euro map.

A TALENTED schoolgirl has designed a cover for a calendar which will be used by the European Parliament.

Anna O’Reilly, who is a P6 pupil at St Margaret of Scotland Primary School in Cumbernauld, entered a competition which focussed on rare birds and animals in Scotland.

Pupils from all over Scotland and Northern Ireland entered the competition but Anna’s Kingfisher on silk was chosen as the winner.

Her design will now be used on the cover of the calendar and MEP George Lyons recently visited the school to present Anna with her prize.

Deputy headteacher Marie Love said: “This is a fantastic achievement and it will help raise the profile of St Margaret’s of Scotland Primary.

“Anna should be very proud as this competition had thousands of entries.”
