Another turbine application at Kilncadzow is refused

An application for planning permission to construct a wind turbine near Kilncadzow has failed – the second time in a month that planners have rejected such a bid.

The application to build the 78-metre high turbine, at the Hole of Kilncadzow, was rejected by South Lanarkire’s planning committee.

It heard that British Airports Authority safety experts had told council planners that the turbine would have a detrimental effect on air traffic control as a significant number of turbines had already been given planning approval and the introduction of another would create ‘unacceptable clutter’ on radar screens.

The rejection of the application, made by William Barr from The Hole Farm, follows the rejection of far higher profile proposals from Energy4All to construct two 125 metre turbines between Kilncadzow and Cartland last month.
