Appeal after Mercedes torched

An investigation has been launched after a Mercedes vehicle was set on fire in Cleland.

The car was found ablaze on Biggar Road around 9.50pm on Saturday (January 30) by a passing member of the public.

Emergency services were called, with firefighters extinguishing the flames. The car is said to have been totally destroyed by the fire.

Police say the vehicle had previously been involved in an accident and had been left in the area for recovery before being set alight.
