Mary Foley (78) rang the Gazette to express her thanks and explain exactly what happened.

She said: “My son has been epileptic since he was a wee boy.

“He took a fit on the corner of Hope Street and Waterloo Road around teatime on Wednesday, November 21.

“The lady took the time to look after him and also called for the Emergency Services.

“She also called my sister, who lives in Kirkfieldbank, to tell her exactly what had happened.

“She must have got hold of Ian’s mobile and explained to my sister exactly what was going on at the time.”
