Armstrong’s, on Battlefield Road, is raising cash for MacMillan Cancer Support in various ways.

Manageress Angie Findlay told The Extra: “We’ll have collecting tins on the bar throughout the month so customers can contribute, we’ll also have football cards so that people can select the team they think will win. Other actions to raise money will inlcude a sponsored walk with other pubs, a BBQ and we’ll be raffling two football tops: Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.”

Armstrongs raises charity money every year and this year the popular pub is hoping to raise £1,000.
