A police spokesman added: “Tracey’s family has been informed of
the development and
officers will continue to
liaise closely with
them.”

Police said once legal formalities are completed the man should be sent to the UK.

Tracey was known to have worked in the sex industry.

At the time of her death an extensive investigation was carried out, with more than 2,000 men quizzed and DNA samples taken.

In a Scottish Television documentary aired in 2006, which
investigated her killing, Tracey was described
by friends as “a fun-loving and dedicated mother”.
