The event has taken place every year for the past 60 years will, as usual, showcase the work of club members with many of the exhibits for sale.

James Higgins, from the Lillie Art Gallery, said: “In addition, a number of the members will act as artists in residence at the display to demonstrate their different styles and methods of painting to visitors.”

A feature of this exhibition, which was introduced last year and which was popular with visitors, was a video recording of one of the artists who had demonstrated her work to club members. On show this year will be Robert Kelsey painting a seascape in oils at a club meeting in February.

There will be a whole host of works on show, including one by Les Adams, which is entitled Allander Water Late Afternoon.
