Ian (84) and 82-year-old Betty were married on March 19 1952 at the YMCA in Wishaw and set up home in Law. Ian, who is originally from Motherwell, was a mine surveyor; he was always known at work as John. For more on the happy couple, see this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette
