Awards seek to honour diversity in Scotland

This is the second year of the awards which champion people and groups who revel in leading the drive for equality in Scottish workforces and communities.

Last year’s awards ceremony saw some of Scotland’s worthiest awarded for their dedication to LGBT+ rights in Scotland, including Graeme Obree (Sporting Icon Of The Year), Karen Dunbar (Role Model Of The Year), and businesses such as Tesco Bank for Employer Of The Year.

Once again event organisers will be reaching out to the Scottish public for nominations, with a public voting platform going live in July. Employees and the general public are encouraged to nominate those Scottish organisations and individuals who are working towards greater equality within Scotland’s community.

Voting for this year’s awards will be open from July 1st to August 31st, with finalists to be revealed at an exclusive finalist party in Glasgow in September. To fully embrace the exemplary work being done in the name of diversity in Scotland, the awards welcome nominations for any individual or business, regardless of a nominee’s sexuality, gender, ethnicity, disability, age, education, race or religion. All voting will be conducted online via the website www.icon-awards.co.uk.
