Barbie kickstarts Believe In Busby campaign
There’s nothing like a bit of nosh, refreshments and a bright, sunny day to get a barbie off to a great start.Around 140 people relaxed in glorious sunshine for the Busby Parish Church Family Barbecue on Saturday in the first of many events planned by the Church to bring the local community together.Invitations to the free event were distributed door-to-door throughout the village and, as well as enjoying the food and drink, and a children’s bouncy castle and face painting, the crowd were entertained by the Bellshill and District Concert Brass Band, singer Melissa Airlie and, topping the bill, singer/songwriter Lynnie Carson who was joined on stage by local artiste, Penny Lamb. With the Church’s Christmas Fayre and Busby Drama Group’s annual pantomime already in the diary, the Church hope to build on Saturday’s success with more events in a campaign with the slogan “Believe in Busby” to reinforce Busby’s community spirit.
