Bard’s immortal memory kept alive

THERE was certainly nothing wee, sleekit, tim’rous or cowering about the local area’s response to last week’s celebration of national Bard Robert Burns’s birth.

For schools and organisations seized the chance to make the most of the big day, and pay homage to the man who is arguably Scotland’s most famous literary figure.

In scenes witnessed across the country, if not the globe, the haggis was addressed, the lassies toasted and the Immortal Memory delivered.

Best of all, how heartening to see our young people helping to keep Rabbie’s memory alive.
