This is part of a major expansion in the west of Scotland following strong sales in 2015 at the likes of The Botanics in Glasgow and Highland Gate in Stirling.

At Ravenscraig there will be the creation of 91 homes within the larger Phoenix Park development, with 63 being built at Moray Field, Uddingston.

In total Barratt is opening seven sites, including Newton Farm in Cambuslang and Lauder Gardens in Strathaven, creating a total of 814 homes.

The new sites will also underpin 200 extra jobs, predominately among local sub-contractors and tradesmen to each site.

David Scott, managing director of Barratt Developments West Scotland, said: “We have seen demand for new homes across the west of Scotland remain as high as ever and our new sites will provide more choice for local buyers.

“It’s also good news for the local economy not just in terms of supporting local construction jobs, but also through the generation of local revenue from new residents spending in local shops and on local services.

“We know the positive social and economic impacts that our developments can make and we’ll be working closely with all the communities in which we’re building, to make sure we maximise those impacts as we progress.”
