The Water Works project, led by East Renfrewshire council, Barrhead high and elderly community group Still Game, aims to transform an abandoned sewage works into a wildlife area, using old tanks as planters for wild flower habitats.

The scheme is one of three vying for the £100,000 Grow Wild funding (part of the Big Lottery Fund).
