Bearsden MSP champions Bishopbriggs hearing loss charity

Bearsden MSP Fiona McLeod held a member’s debate celebrating Bishopbriggs-based deaf awareness charity Action on Hearing Loss in the Scottish Parliament.

A group of approximately 30 volunteers and staff from Action on Hearing Loss attended the debate and met up with the MSPs from across the political spectrum who spoke in the debate afterwards.

Ms McLeod said: “It is always a delight to meet up with Delia Henry, Director of Action for Hearing Loss and Irene Fyffe, Volunteer for Action on Hearing Loss and her hearing dog Muffin.

“So it was an extra special treat for me to be able to celebrate the work they do in Bishopbriggs and across East Dunbartonshire at the Hearing Surgeries in a debate in their honour at the Scottish Parliament.

“At the Hearing Surgeries they have help people maintain their hearing aids or get help, advice and generally help people live better with their hearing loss.

“As is always the case, Muffin the incredibly cute hearing dog, was the star of the show and stole many hearts on the day!

“Action on Hearing Loss has helped many hundreds of people across East Dunbartonshire come to terms with their hearing loss and live well with their condition. I am proud to count their director and volunteers as friends and wish them all the very best for many years to come.”
