Bid to reunite pair of paintings to the artist's descendants

Douglas Smith from Stewarton received the paintings from his late father, William P. Smith, who was a lifelong friend of Mr Ogg.

He believes his father may have served in the forces with the late Mr Ogg, who owned an outfitters in the town.

Mr Smith said: “My father spent four years in Burma from 1941 to 1945.

“I am confident they worked together in Paisley after the Second World War.

“Many people will be unaware that Campbell was an accomplished watercolourist. My father was gifted these two watercolours signed ACA Ogg from Campbell around 1980.

“I remember them proudly adorning my parents lounges in Whitecraigs and Dunkeld. They are still full of colour and beautiful to look at day after day.

“I would like to find a good home for them, hopefully to a surviving relative of Campbell or a collector of water colours from a local artist.”

He will use any sale proceeds to pay for a trip to Myanmar, formerly Burma, in memory of his father.
