Biggar Gala Day 2010

IT was definitely a day to remember for Biggar Fleming Queen Kathryn Sandilands as she was crowned in front of a huge crowd outside the Municipal Hall.

The whole town basked in sunshine as the 2010 Crowning Lady Janet Ward officially crowned Queen Kathryn.

Queen Kathryn was led to her ceremony by the Glencorse Pipe Band.

Flanked by her court, and this year's Cornet David Williamson, she was then crowned with the whole of Biggar, her mum Kay, dad Ian and sister Eilidh all looking on.

Gala Committee chairman Scott Brotherstone said: "The procession was well attended and the weather was a big help to us.

"The court and the queen carried out all their duties very well and the support we've had from everyone in the town has been great."
