Biggar man Richard Calveley tells of Arctic Rangers challenge

WHILE Richard Calveley was battling freezing temperatures in Norway for the Rangers Charity Foundation, Ibrox chairman Craig Whyte was busy putting the club into administration.

Despite this, Richard, along with other Rangers fans and former player Bert Konterman, managed to complete the Arctic Challenge raising over £40,000 for the charity – and avoiding all the negative headlines back home.

Richard said: “We were told the news on Tuesday and it was a bit doom and gloom but, because of where we were, we pushed on.

“One of the huskies had actually died so it was a difficult day but it was a great relief when we finally finished.”
